Chapter Six: Joyfully Overthinking

Full of Pride

Curled up on the sofa with the cutest puppy ever, watching his favourite Disney+ TV show (yes, he has a favourite) and finally getting around to blogging. I extended my bank holiday weekend and so, without meaning to rub it in, for me the weekend started on Thursday. Thursday was such a good day too. I still got my morning walk in, but instead of … Continue reading Full of Pride

It's nearly time to say ta-ra to January. Here's a peek at mine ❄️💛 I’m curled up with a cuppa, a box of chocs and Willow, who’s sat on my lap between me and my laptop making it incredibly hard for me to type. I’ve got my favourite Disney film on in the background – top marks for anyone who can guess which one in the comments. Isn't she lovely? 💛🐾 When you successfully convince them to look at the camera 🥹💛🐾 Winter light getting me through the January blues ☀️💛 Just finished washing up and my fingers are all wrinkly, as if I’ve just got out of a lovely long bath. My hair’s a total mess and I’m wearing an old jumper with pyjama bottoms, but I feel like writing for the first time in forever, so I’m smiling hugely (Hey there 2023 followers and thanks for sticking with me!). I love our little tree. It's not perfect, but it's ours and it's got us feeling oh so festive and cosy 🥰🎄 That's another Sunday come and gone without an update from me. Writer's block is here to stay for now, but this weekend we put the Christmas decorations up, so here's a cute cat photo for the time being 😍🎄 Some days are presentable working from home days and some days just aren't and I'm here to say, that's okay 🧡🤣 Most important box to unpack when moving into a new flat at Christmas? A past Bronwen would tell you that there's nothing like getting the Christmas tree up to make the place feel like home 🎄🧡 December 2020, we spent our first Christmas in our flat. We ate Christmas dinner cross legged on the floor at our easy-build IKEA coffee tables. Christmas has ARRIVED in London and I am so ready. Walking through the streets of central London at night has always been one of my favourite things. It's even better at this time of year. I am doing my best to enjoy autumn in all its gloriousness. No rain, no flowers 🌷 Happy Hump Day! Happy Saturday! What do we reckon are the chances of me making a cuppa and then getting back before she's stolen my spot? 📚😺🧡 I'm so torn about this one, but here goes... Apparently it takes 50 days to embed a new routine into your life. Sundays are even better at the end of a hectic week, don’t you think? There’s nothing like the feeling of relief when you wake up on a Sunday morning and realise there’s nothing to do except relax. Today I’m moving particularly slowly. And time feels like it’s very kindly slowed down too. I hope it stays this way. I feel like I’m going to need to chill for a while yet, before I’ve got the oomph for another Monday. My next 'moment' was captured all the way back in 2017, on a walk through the lovely Cassiobury Park in Watford. Sipping peppermint tea and trying to keep the Sunday night butterflies at bay – work is manic at the minute and whilst I’m actually looking forward to this week, I can’t help feeling a little nervous too. I woke up this Sunday morning to the sound of rain hammering away on the wooden roof of the glamping pod we were staying in. Boiling the kettle to make a cup of tea, to sip in front of the rainy window, felt like the perfect way to welcome in Autumn. A bit late to the party, but this was August ☀️💛 Yesterday, I joined the Pride celebrations in Cardiff and it filled me with so much joy. And not just because I got to be back in one of my favourite cities in the world with one of my favourite people. This picture was taken by an amazing friend who I hadn't actually known very long at all at the time. We'd been friends for about a year, but it felt like we'd known each other forever. We had the best evening. So good that even now, 8 years on, I remember that night super clearly - which is saying something, because I have a TERRIBLE memory. Happy Sunday! We had to take the cats for their booster vaccinations this week and the whole process was so chilled out. Going for the cuteness factor with this one... We're still on the theme of taking a moment and it seems whatever I do, I'm drawn to photos of nature at the moment, but for me, this photo is also about noticing the little things.
