Chapter Five: These will be the good old days

Week Nine

Monday morning I rolled over to grab the tv remote, turned on the news and snoozed for ten minutes. I rolled out of bed and into the shower. I didn’t have time for a cuppa (because of the snooze – so worth it on a Monday morning) and I headed straight to the station once I was showered and dressed. Pause there – I have to … Continue reading Week Nine

Chapter Four: Here's to the Here and Now

Balance

The weekend before last was a bank holiday weekend and it was sunny. So, in summary, it was the best kind of a weekend. I spent it chilling mostly, but also bbq-ing, shopping and eating. The BBQ featured lamb and mint kebabs and Pimms and lemonade and chips and dips and olives and cheese and some of my favourite girl pals… Need I say more? … Continue reading Balance

It may be grey and windy and gloomy in England right now, but if you look close enough, there are pretty little signs everywhere that Spring is on the way 💛🌸 I was at the National Botanic Garden of Wales for work today and I 100% recommend a visit. Good Morning from snowy England ❄️💛 Finally got around to reading this after all of the hype. I'd heard very mixed things, and now I can see why. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I looked forward to reading it every night, but didn't find it that hard to put it back down again either... Happy St David's Day! ... next stop Spring 🌼💛 Happy Sunday lovely people! This weekend I found a recipe for this gloriously easy-to-make smoothie and one of my best friends showed me how layering nachos ensures you get dip on every chip. It's nearly time to say ta-ra to January. Here's a peek at mine ❄️💛 I’m curled up with a cuppa, a box of chocs and Willow, who’s sat on my lap between me and my laptop making it incredibly hard for me to type. I’ve got my favourite Disney film on in the background – top marks for anyone who can guess which one in the comments. Isn't she lovely? 💛🐾 When you successfully convince them to look at the camera 🥹💛🐾 Winter light getting me through the January blues ☀️💛 Just finished washing up and my fingers are all wrinkly, as if I’ve just got out of a lovely long bath. My hair’s a total mess and I’m wearing an old jumper with pyjama bottoms, but I feel like writing for the first time in forever, so I’m smiling hugely (Hey there 2023 followers and thanks for sticking with me!). I love our little tree. It's not perfect, but it's ours and it's got us feeling oh so festive and cosy 🥰🎄 That's another Sunday come and gone without an update from me. Writer's block is here to stay for now, but this weekend we put the Christmas decorations up, so here's a cute cat photo for the time being 😍🎄 Some days are presentable working from home days and some days just aren't and I'm here to say, that's okay 🧡🤣 Most important box to unpack when moving into a new flat at Christmas? A past Bronwen would tell you that there's nothing like getting the Christmas tree up to make the place feel like home 🎄🧡 December 2020, we spent our first Christmas in our flat. We ate Christmas dinner cross legged on the floor at our easy-build IKEA coffee tables. Christmas has ARRIVED in London and I am so ready. Walking through the streets of central London at night has always been one of my favourite things. It's even better at this time of year. I am doing my best to enjoy autumn in all its gloriousness. No rain, no flowers 🌷 Happy Hump Day! Happy Saturday! What do we reckon are the chances of me making a cuppa and then getting back before she's stolen my spot? 📚😺🧡 I'm so torn about this one, but here goes... Apparently it takes 50 days to embed a new routine into your life. Sundays are even better at the end of a hectic week, don’t you think? There’s nothing like the feeling of relief when you wake up on a Sunday morning and realise there’s nothing to do except relax. Today I’m moving particularly slowly. And time feels like it’s very kindly slowed down too. I hope it stays this way. I feel like I’m going to need to chill for a while yet, before I’ve got the oomph for another Monday. My next 'moment' was captured all the way back in 2017, on a walk through the lovely Cassiobury Park in Watford. Sipping peppermint tea and trying to keep the Sunday night butterflies at bay – work is manic at the minute and whilst I’m actually looking forward to this week, I can’t help feeling a little nervous too.
